TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona men’s and women’s swimming and diving team will open up the home season this Friday against UNLV at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center. The meet will begin at 2 p.m.
The women’s team looks to pick up where they left off against Utah after the dominating 204-96 victory this past weekend.
The Wildcats were led by Margo Geer and Bonnie Brandon, as both picked up where they left off last season. Earning victories in the 400 medley relay and claiming the top four spots in the 200 free last weekend, the Cats look to be in good form early.
Samantha Pickens will continue to work her way back to her National Championship defense as she comes off a 295.73 point first place finish.
Meanwhile, the men will look to keep some momentum from the Utah meet. Defending National Champion Kevin Cordes took home a few victories last weekend.
For UNLV, this will be its first meet of the season. The Rebels return the majority of a men's squad that finished 29th at the NCAA Championships. The women meanwhile bring back a solid group that is expected to challenge for a top-three finish in the Mountain West.
