     Earned first-team All-America honors and was MVP of the Pacific-10 Conference Southern Division as a leftfielder in 1980 when Arizona won its second College World Series championship. Hit .401 with 84 runs batted in for 1980 season. Was all-conference performer in 1979-1980. Embarked on a distinguished professional career with Montreal Expos and as the manager of the Boston Red Sox where he led them to two World Seies victories.  He is currently the manager of the Cleveland Indians.
