HONOLULU, HAWAII – Arizona women’s tennis will participate in the Weinman Foundation Invitational this weekend to conclude the fall campaign. The tournament is slated for three days, Friday through Sunday, with matches scheduled to be played all day at the University of Hawaii Tennis Complex.
Alongside Arizona, the University of Hawaii and UC Irvine will partake in the tournament.
Head coach Vicky Maes will send all nine Arizona players to compete this weekend.
The Weinman Foundation Invitational marks the fifth tournament that the Wildcats will compete this fall.
In their last tournament at the ITA Regionals, four Wildcats combined for a 9-4 record in singles play. All four Arizona players reached the Round of 32. Senior Kim Stubbe led the Wildcats by advancing to the quarterfinals.
In four fall tournaments, the Wildcats have compiled an overall record of 65-14. In doubles, Arizona’s overall record is 16-3. Juniors Susan Mc Rann and Laura Oldham have paired up for two tournaments and have yet to record a loss, winning eight straight doubles matches. In those eight matches, Oldham and Mc Rann have limited opponents to an average of four points per match.
Following the Weinman Foundation Invitational, head coach Vicky Maes and her squad will prepare for the upcoming spring season which kicks-off on Jan. 25, 2014 at home against Northern Arizona.
