     The premiere backstroker in UA swimming history. He was an All-American in 1987,1989, and 1990 in the 200-yard backstroke, in 1987 and 1990 in the 100-yard backstroke and in 1990 as part of the 400-yard medley relay. At the time of induction, he held the UA school record in the 100-yard backstroke. In 1987, he was the 200-meter backstroke champion at U.S. Swimming National Championships, following a second place finish at the NCAA Championships. While at the UA, he was picked for the 1987 and 1989 U.S. Pan Pacific Games Team and for the 1990-91 World Championship Team.
