Quintero Takes Platform Title for Second Straight Year

TUCSON, Ariz. – For the second straight year, Arizona sophomore Rafael Quintero won the platform diving competition to close out the final day of the 6th Annual Wildcat Diving Invitational on Sunday at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center.

Quintero recorded 404.30 points to easily win the competition with Collin Pollard of USC placing second with 324.35 points. Quintero earned his second title of the weekend as he took home top honors in the 3-meter event yesterday.

The Wildcats also got solid efforts from Dominic Ricotta and Sean Clark as they finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Ricotta tallied 296.80 points, while Clark earned 269.60 points.

On the women’s side, Arizona was led by freshman Sally Hackett as she earned a solid third place finish on the platform with 220.85 points. En-Tien Huang of Nevada took home the victory as she recorded 240.80 points.

The Wildcats return to action for the Texas Invite which runs from Dec. 5-7 in Austin, Texas.
