University of Arizona junior guard Nick Johnson was named a candidate for the 2014 Allstate NABC Good Works Team on Tuesday in an announcement by the NABC and Allstate Insurance Company.
In its second year, the Allstate NABC Good Works Team honors players at all levels of college basketball who represent the sport’s finest in the areas of leadership and charitable achievements amongst their peers.
“Allstate is proud to recognize these outstanding groups of men and women whose commitment to service and volunteerism demonstrate that ‘good works’ extend beyond the basketball court,” Pam Hollander, senior director of marketing for Allstate Insurance Company, said. “Each of the nominees serves as a role model and inspiration to future generations seeking ways to give back, and another reason to celebrate the good happening in our communities.”
Special voting panels will select two five-man Allstate NABC Good Works Teams in February 2014. Grant Hill will headline the voting panel and will be joined by Greg Anthony, Mateen Cleaves, Bobby Cremins and Seth Greenberg, among others.
Fresh off of their record-tying fourth NIT Season Tip-Off championship, the second-ranked Wildcats will begin a three-game homestand against Texas Tech on Tuesday. Tickets for the contest with the Red Raiders are still available at the McKale Center Ticket Office, by phone at (520) 621-CATS or online at arizonawildcats.com.
