TUCSON, Ariz. - Thanksgiving break began with giving for the Arizona men’s tennis team as they volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. The freezing rain had no barring on the event, as the guys rose bright and early to construct interior framing for several houses in the Copper Vista Neighborhood.

“Habitat gives us an opportunity to reach out and work side by side with those who never have had a decent home,” head coach Tad Berkowitz said. “This is the second year we have been apart of the organization and it is truly an amazing experience for all of us.”

While the team worked with Habitat last spring, it was first-year assistant coach Arron Spencer’s first time being apart of the new tradition.

“We are thankful for the opportunity to work with an organization like Habitat for Humanity and experience the good that they do in the community every day,” Spencer said. “It was great to see the team work hard and really engage in giving their time to something bigger than themselves.”

This marks the second consecutive semester the Wildcats have contributed to Tucson’s Habitat for Humanity and it is a streak they look to continue.
