The University of Arizona's first black letterman in both basketball and baseball, leading the way for others to come. Led team in scoring both seasons at Arizona and received All Border Conference honors each year. Following military service, entered law enforcement in San Francisco, soon being named to San Francisco Police Department's first Police Community Relations Unit. Moved to the San Francisco District Attorney's office in 1966 and quickly earned reputation as an outstanding investigator. In 1971 was appointed Chief Investigator, the first black person to hold such a post in the state of California. Still held that position at time of induction.
