     With a UA-record career stroke average of 72.62, he was First Team All America and All Pac-10 in 1987 and 1988. His 71.60 stroke average in 1988 also broke the UA single season record, and his low round of 66 was 8th best in UA history. He won the Pac-10 individual title in 1987, leading the Wildcats to the Pac-10 team title as well, and was named Pac-10 Player of the Year in 1988. During his UA career he won five individual tournament titles, and Arizona won nine team tournament titles. He turned professional in 1988 and won the 1991 PGA Deposit Guaranty Classic.
