TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Arizona junior Ka'Deem Carey has been named to the Walter Camp First-Team All-America list for the second straight season, it was announced on Thursday. The Walter Camp All-America team is being announced in conjunction with The Home Depot College Football Awards show (ESPN, Thursday, 7:00 ET).

Carey was the first offensive player in Arizona history named to the Walter Camp All-America team last season and becomes the first Wildcat to be named to the team in back to back years since Tedy Bruschi earned the honors in 1994 and 1995.

The Walter Camp All-America honor is the 12th in school history as Carey joins a list of nine defensive specialists who have collected 10 Walter Camp All-America certificates (Antoine Cason, DB, 2007; Chris McAlister, DB, 1998; Tedy Bruschi, DL, 1994 and 1995; Tony Bouie, DB, 1994; Rob Waldrop, DL, 1993; Darryll Lewis, DB, 1990; Chuck Cecil, DB, 1987; Allan Durden, DB, 1985; Ricky Hunley, LB, 1983).

Carey, the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year, is Arizona’s all-time career rushing leader (4,070 yards) and is currently the nation’s No. 2 rusher (156.0 ypg). He is second among active FBS players with 4,070 career rushing yards. He owns or shares 21 single-game, season and career school records and leads all FBS players with 15-straight 100-yard rushing games.

Carey leads all active FBS players in career rushing yards and leads all active FBS players with 50 career touchdowns (UA school record). He ranks second among all active FBS players with 20.5 rush attempts per game (career). He is also tied for the national lead among active FBS players with 21 career 100-yard rushing games. In addition, Carey has rushed for 100-plus yards in 15-straight games (longest streak in FBS) and in 19 of last 20 games played (also 21 of last 24). He has 125-plus all-purpose yards in 15-straight games played.

The Tucson native was also named to the USA Today All-America list and to the Bleacher Report College Football All-America team earlier this week.

The Wildcats will take on the Boston College Eagles on Tue., Dec. 31 at the AdvoCare V100 Bowl.
