Outstanding all-around athlete and student leader, winning nine varsity letters in three sports from 1933 through 1936. Captain of 1936 football team which won second straight Border Conference championship. Member of 1935-36 Border Conference champion basketball team. Elected Student Body President 1936-37, Vice President and Chairman, Board of Control, 1935-36. Following graduation served as assistant coach of football, basketball and baseball for three years.
