Mr. Sugameli teaches Construction at Marana High School. John has a tremendous ability to engage students through his innovative teaching practices. He designs lessons to provide student’s 21st century skills to be competitive in a global market. It is not uncommon to walk into the “construction site” and find students laying tile, mixing cement, and building walls. Students are also engaged in problem-solving, negotiating, and conducting all operations of a successful business.
In addition to being a dynamic educator, John holds several leadership positions and volunteers for numerous service projects. He serves as the Chairperson of the Career and Technical Education Professional Learning Community and is a member of the Tools for Schools team where he works tirelessly on behalf of student needs. John is Head Varsity Golf Coach, Head Junior Varsity Baseball Coach and advisor for multiple clubs and teams. John’s passion has earned him a reputation as a dedicated educator who truly cares about his students and the community. Teaching is not just a job; it is a way of life for John Sugameli.
