Beth Botsford was a 16-time All-American during the course of her Wildcat career. In 2000, she won the 200m backstroke at the NCAA Championships. Botsford still sits atop the Arizona women's all-time top performers list in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:53.52, and ranks fifth in the 100 yard backstroke at 52.91. She was named the Pac-10 Women's Swimming Newcomer of the Year in 2000 and helped the Cats post a runner-up finish at the NCAA Championship. Also an outstanding swimmer internationally, she won two gold medals while competing in the 100m backstroke and 400m medley relay at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Botsford garnered a silver medal in the 200m backstroke and bronze medal in the 100m backstroke during the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg. She set two American and two U.S. Open records during her career.
