     First UofA athlete to win a national swimming championship and first female athlete to win a national championship in any sport. Won AIAW titles in the 400 individual medley (1978) and 200 individual medley (1981) and an NCAA title in the 50 freestyle (1982). Earned All-American honors all four seasons of competition. Set UofA records in the 50 and 100 yard freestyles, 100 and 200 yard breastroke, 100, 200, and 400 yard individual medley events and on record setting 400 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay teams. represented the United States in the World University Games in 1981. American record co-holder in 400 freestyle relay in 1976 and 1977. Was a finalist at the 1975 World Games Trials, the 1976-1980 Olympic Trials and at the AAU national Championships, 1974-1978.  Received Arizona Republic Sports Award and Tucson Conquistador Award. Was WCAA All-Conference, Golden Eagle Award winner and Golden "A" winner.
