A slick shortstop, she helped lead The University of Arizona's Softball team to its first NCAA Championship in 1991. She was an All-American in 1991 and earned All-College World Series and All-Region honors in both 1988 and 1991. She is an All-Pac 10 selection for three years (1989, 1990, 1991) and a member of the U.S. National Team competing in the Pan American Games. She set an Arizona record for games played in a career and holds the record for career assits. At the time of induction, Standering was listed in the Wildcat top ten in seven offensive categories.
