Matha Thomas Coutchie
Outstanding all-around athlete who was a four-year member of honor teams in five sports and one year in another. Member of varsity teams in field hockey, archery, and softball; state champion in archery, 1941. Received High Point and Outstanding Sportswoman Awards and won two "A" sweaters and two "A" blankets. Prominent student leader, was president of Women's Athletic Association, Mortor Board, and spurs, and member of F.S.T. Junior Women's honorary and journalism and art honoraries. Graduated with honors and was named to Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. Went on to distinguished career in teaching and coaching. At time of induction, at age 70, had just been named high school divisional Tennis Co-Coach of the Year in Southern Arizona.
