TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona women’s soccer wrapped up their home slate of the spring schedule Sunday afternoon with a 0-0 tie against the University of New Mexico at Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium.
Arizona outshot the Lobos, 8-6, with freshman Priscilla Pimienta and sophomore Hannah Wong leading the way with two shots apiece. Alexa Montgomery, Lexe Selman, Haley Silverberg and Kaitlyn Lopez each recorded one shot each.
“We didn’t create too many attacking chances and that’s something we will be working on,” head coach Tony Amato said. “We need to find ways to get our forwards the ball to create more scoring opportunities. We did a better job of that towards the end of the game but that’s definitely an area we need to work on.”
Goalkeepers Gabby Kaufman, Megan Baker and Alison Gondosch each recorded one save apiece for the Wildcats while New Mexico goalkeeper, Cassie Ulrich, recorded seven saves.
Up next, the Cats will continue their spring schedule on the road to El Paso, Texas to take on the University of Texas at El Paso. Match time is set for 2 p.m. on Sat., April 5, 2014 and will be played at University Field.
