TUCSON, Ariz. - Following a successful senior season, Arizona men's golfer Erik Oja was named to the PING All-West Region team on Thursday.
The All-Region teams are voted on by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and feature 157 golfers from six regions. Oja was the only Wildcat to make the team and was one of 14 Pac-12 individuals included.
"We are very proud of the season Erik assembled," head coach Jim Anderson said. "Erik has had one of the best seasons in program history. He came into the season with individual goals, including to be named All-American, and this is one step along the way. I'm glad to see he has been recognized for his accomplishments."
Oja had the program's sixth best season scoring average with a 71.37. He also holds the fourth best career scoring average with 72.36.
Other postseason awards include All-Pac-12 First-Team and Capital One Academic All-District Team. Oja was also selected to the Palmer Cup European team, which will be held at the Walton Heath Golf Club from Thurs., June 26 to Sat., June 28.
