TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Arizona women’s golf, ranked ninth nationally by golfstat.com, will play at the Silverado Showdown, hosted by Colorado and Oregon, Mon.-Tues., April 14-15. The two-day, three-round tournament will be held at Silverado Resort and Spa North Course in Napa, Calif. Two rounds of play will be contested Monday and one final round on Tuesday with 7:30 a.m. MST/PT tee times both days
Juniors Kendall Prince and Andrea Vilarasau, sophomore Lindsey Weaver and freshmen Jessica Vasilic and Wanasa Zhou will be competing for the Wildcats on Monday and Tuesday. No. 9 Arizona, No. 33 California, No. 52 Colorado, Fresno State, New Mexico, No. 20 Northwestern, No. 35 Oregon, Oregon State, No. 43 San Diego State, San Jose State, No. 44 UNLV, No. 1 USC, No. 11 Washington, Washington State and No. 46 Wisconsin will play in Napa on Monday and Tuesday. Last time out, the Wildcats picked up their third top-five finish of the 2013-14 season with a fifth-place showing at the PING/ASU Invitational. Arizona finished fifth with a score of 868 (+4) and rounds of 288 (E), 288 (E) and 292 (+4). Zhou was Arizona’s top finisher for the third time this season and for the first time in the spring portion of the schedule. She earned an eighth-place finish with rounds of 69, 73 and 72 for a combined score of 214 (-2). The top-10 finish was Zhou’s second of the season and her fourth top-20 finish in 2013-14.
