TUCSON, Ariz. – Head coach Rich Rodriguez and the University of Arizona football program continued spring practice on Friday at Kindall Field/Sancet Stadium. The 2014 Cats worked out in full pads for two hours. Below is a transcript of senior receiver Austin Hill’s comments following practice.

On spring practice so far:

“It has been going good. We’re trying to get back in the grind. Spring break was kind of a little set back but we’re out here doing well our first week back. There’s always stuff we can learn and improve on. We’re getting better every day so I can’t complain.”

On the intensity in practice:

“The intensity is good. I think the defense’s intensity is a little bit higher than offense’s right now just because we’re still putting in a lot of plays and there’s a lot of thinking going on. We need to work on consistency, getting plays down and doing everything as fast as we can. Right now, we don’t have as much intensity but we’re working on it. We’ll get there.”

On the evaluation of the skill positions:

“I think everyone is getting better. I think the receivers are really working on things. I think this is one of the best receiving groups that I’ve played with here, and I‘ve played with the likes of Juron (Criner), David Roberts and David Douglas. I’ve played with some good receivers but I think this is one of the best. We have a lot of young talent at receiver. At the quarterback position, there is a lot of talent but they really have to work on things like being consistent and working on timing. That will come as time goes on. You never really have the perfect quarterback or receiver consistency this early, I think. That’s something that we will work on for the rest of spring and through camp. Our running backs are doing really well. Coach Magee is taking care of them. They’re learning their plays perfectly. It’s just a matter of time until we get everything done.”
