TUCSON – Arizona softball will add a four-time All-American and two-time national champion to its coaching staff as Caitlin Lowe will serve as the team’s volunteer assistant coach, head coach Mike Candrea announced Tuesday.
Lowe, who served as the team’s director of operations in 2013, will coach outfielders and slappers.
“We are very excited that Caitlin will be a member of our coaching staff with primary duties working with the Arizona outfielders, slappers, and base running,” said Candrea. “We feel that Caitlin brings a great background as a player and will excel in working with our players on a day-to-day basis.”
Lowe, fresh off an NPF Championship with the USSSA Pride, will continue to compete for the Pride during the summers while pursuing her coaching career during the academic year as a member of the UA staff.
Mark Blair, who last year served as a volunteer coach for the Wildcats, will be taking over this year as the Director of Operations for the program.
“Mark is a former educator and brings a wealth of experience to our program,” said Candrea.
