Two Arizona women’s tennis players landed in the ITA NCAA Division I women’s rankings, the ITA announced Friday.
Senior Lacey Smyth grabbed the No. 40 spot and senior Kim Stubbe land at No. 82.
“I am happy to have both Lacey and Kim represented in the national rankings,” Arizona head coach Vicky Maes said. “As they are now seniors and have gained a tremendous amount of experience over the last few years, I know this is just a starting point. Both Lacey and Kim have set high goals for themselves and I believe they will accumulate many significant wins for the Cats this year.”
In addition to Smyth and Stubbe, Arizona will return all of its players, giving the experienced squad five upper-classmen.
The Wildcats will open their fall season on September 13 at the New Mexico State Invitational.
