2013-14: Cordes was named NCAA Swimmer of the Year and Pac-12 Swimmer of the Year for the second straight year…He won NCAA titles in the 100 breast and 200 breast for the second straight season in record fashion, setting the American, U.S. Open, NCAA and school records…Has won three straight Pac-12 Swimmer of the Month awards…Cordes finished undefeated on the dual season as he has won each of his individual events in the breaststroke …At the Texas Invite, Cordes shattered his own American record in the 100 breast with a time of 50.70. Meanwhile, he was just short of his American record in the 200 breast.  In addition, Cordes represented Team USA in Glasgow, Scotland for the 2013 Duel in the Pool. The U.S. vs. Europe event came down to a tiebreaker as Cordes was instrumental in helping Team USA take the crown. His time of 56.88 in the 100 breast broke the previous standard of 57.18 by Mike Alexandrov at the 2010 Short Course World Championships. The time also moved Cordes up to third place in the world in 2013, behind European textile record holder Fabio Scozzoli (56.49) and multi-Olympic gold medalist Daniel Gyurta (56.79). Meanwhile, Cordes took third place in the 200 breast yesterday with a time of 2:02.38. The American record time shattered Ed Moses’ previous record time of 2:02.92 from 2004. Cordes now owns four American records as he is also owns the top spot in both the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke events. In addition to his individual performances in Scotland, Cordes was also part of the winning 400 medley relay team along with the clinching 200 mixed medley relay team. Team USA and Team Europe were tied at the end of the Dual in the Pool, which forced the tiebreaker.

2012-13: Earned NCAA titles in the 100 (50.74) and 200 (1:48.68) breaststrokes after swimming the fastest times in history for both events…The 100 breast title was his second in as many years…Was named NCAA Swimmer of the Year after his record shattering week at NCAAs…Swam the fastest breaststroke leg ever in the 400 medley relay with a time of 49.6 to help his team win the NCAA relay title…Earned four All-American honors…Won gold medals in both the 100 and 200 breast while breaking American, meet and U.S. Open records at the AT&T U.S. Winter National Championships…Competed for Team USA in the FINA World Swimming Championship in Istanbul, Turkey…Won gold in the 400 medley relay and bronze in the 100 breast…Won Pac-12 titles in both the 100 and 200 breast…Named Pac-12 Swimmer of the Month in both November and December…Earned Counsilman Hunsaker National Swimmer of the Week on December 4. 

2011-12: Named Arizona Athletics' Male Freshman Athlete of the Year...Named December's Pac-12 Swimmer of the Month...Earned four All-American honors after winning a title in the 100 breast and 200 medley relay, finishing second in the 400 medley relay and third in the 200 breast at the NCAA Championships...Broke a pool record, a UA record and earned an NCAA "A" cut in the 100 breast and posted an "A" cut in the 200 breast at the Texas Invite.

High School: Lettered for four years in swimming at Neuequa Valley High School ....was team captain his senior year....earned all-Conference honors over three years....holds the school record for the 100m breaststroke at Neuqua Valley High School...State Champions in 2008, and runners up in 2009 and 2010...was also recruited by California, USC, Auburn, and Virginia.
