Game Storylines
» The Pac-12’s winningest road team over the last four-plus seasons, No. 1 Arizona will play its second true road game of the year on Saturday when it visits Michigan.

» The Wildcats are 1-0 on the road this season and have won a league-best 25 true road games since the start of the 2009-10 campaign; in head coach Sean Miller’s first four years in Tucson, UA averaged 6.0 road wins per season.

» UA has now been the AP No. 1 for a total of 30 weeks, the 10th-most in NCAA history and second-most in Pac-12 history; Arizona is the first Pac-12 team to ascend to the top spot in the AP poll since January 6, 2006.

» Now in his fifth season in Tucson, Miller continues to honor a process that has seen him lead UA to a Pac-12-best 90-28 (.763) record since the start of the 2010-11 campaign.

» Heading into the week, Arizona ranked ninth nationally in both field goal percentage defense and scoring defense; opponents are shooting just .364 and scoring 58.0 points per game against UA with no opponent scoring more than 66 points in a game this season.

» Arizona has won the rebounding battle in each of its 10 games this season and ranks second nationally with a +14.3 rebound margin; UA is securing 42.7 percent of available offensive rebounds on the season, averaging 13.4 offensive boards and 14.8 second-chance points per game.

» Long and athletic on the perimeter, UA has hassled opposing shooters into a 27.2 percent mark from three-point range this season, including a total of 24-of-102 (.235) in its last seven games.

» Arizona’s post defense has been stellar in the early going, limiting opponents to 40.1 percent shooting inside the arc and averaging 5.7 blocks per game; last season’s UA team averaged only 3.8 blocks per contest.

» The Wildcats’ offensive attack is operating at 50.2 percent from the floor, while averaging 24.4 free throw attempts per game; T.J. McConnell ranks ninth nationally in assists (6.7/game) and leads the Pac-12 with a 3.4 assist-to-turnover ratio.

» Miller’s biggest Arizona team has been lethal in the paint, more than doubling its opponents’ output in the same area; UA is +15.3 points per game in the paint on average and shooting 54.8 percent from inside the arc this season.

» UA has thrown down 53 dunks in 10 games this season, with Kaleb Tarczewski (17) and Aaron Gordon (14) accounting for nearly 60 percent of that total; Arizona has only yielded eight opponent dunks on the year.
