SEATTLE – Arizona women’s basketball will face USC in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament on Thursday, March 6 at 2:30 p.m. PT in Seattle, Wash. The game will be shown live on the Pac-12 Networks.
Junior Candice Warthen leads the Wildcats in scoring at 11.2 points per game, while freshman LaBrittney Jones leads in rebounding with 5.8 per game. Senior Carissa Crutchfield leads UA in assists with 3.3 per game.
Arizona has lost its last six games after defeating No. 11 ASU on February 9.
Under first-year head coach Cynthia Cooper, the Trojans are led by senior Cassie Harberts at 16.2 ppg and junior Ariya Cook with 15.8 ppg. Harberts also leads the team in rebounding with 7.5 rpg, but junior Alexyz Vaioletama is not far behind at 7.2 rpg.
USC finished its regular season with two wins on the road, defeating Utah, 67-57 and Colorado, 66-59.
On January 12, the Trojans defeated the Wildcats, 54-45 in Tucson, Ariz. in their only matchup of the season. Warthen led UA with 12 points and Crutchfield had four assists in the game.
USC leads the all-time series, 53-20, including a 1-2 mark on a neutral court. The Trojans have won the last five meetings.
The winner of the game will advance to play Arizona State on Friday, March 7 at 2:30 p.m. PT.
