This will be our final WW of the 2013-14 season. Our year-in-review video will be shared on Wed., June 18. We’ll resume WW for the 2014-15 school year on Wed., Aug. 6.
In last week’s edition, we incorrectly identified the people in our header photo. Pictured with Tamara Pridgett and Coach Harvey were her club track coaches, not her parents. We apologize for the mistake.

Shapri Romero (200 meters, 400 meters), Nnenya Hailey (400-meter hurdles), Elvin Kibet (5K, 10K) and Julie Labonte (shot put) will compete on the women’s side.
FOOTBALL POSTERS ARE IN
Hot off the printer, the 2014 football poster has arrived and is available to the public. To coincide with the 11+1/Be The One theme, we held a special photo shoot with some of our most spirited fans and put them on the poster. Look closely and you might see your friend, neighbor or classmate. Fans can pick up a free poster at the Jim Click Hall of Champions during normal business hours. We’ll soon have them available at the UA Phoenix alumni office on the downtown campus. We’ll also have them available at community events throughout the summer. For those living out of the area, you can request posters online by clicking here. There is a fee for mailing costs.
CLUB ARIZONA UPDATE
We are excited to announce that we are revamping our kids club for Wildcat fans in kindergarten through eighth grade. Members of Club Arizona will be seeing exciting new changes in the months to come. One of those changes will be the name of our club. We want to hear ideas directly from our members so we are having a contest where all Club Arizona members are able to submit an idea for the new name of our kids club. It’s time to get creative!
Contest details will be sent out to Club Arizona members through an email early next week. If you know a child who loves to show their Wildcat spirit but who is not yet a member of Club Arizona, you can sign them up by visiting www.clubarizona.org.
THANK YOU, JAY REES!
Jay Rees, who served as director of The Pride of Arizona marching band for nearly 20 years, announced his resignation this week as he leaves the U of A for a position at the University of Miami. We want to thank Jay for his service and dedication to Arizona Athletics and we wish him luck in his new endeavor.
McKALE RENOVATION CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
The new court has been installed and new seat install starts this week. The project is progressing very well and, at this time, we are on time and on budget. Take a look at the construction live with ourweb cam.
Dennis Bugajski is a 1978 letterman and alumni of our wrestling program. He also serves on the A Club Advisory Committee. Dennis retired in May from the Sunnyside school district with 29 years of service teaching eighth grade social studies. The school district had a breakfast for the retirees where he proudly displayed his A Club card during photos and encouraged others to join. Dennis, thanks for all your support and dedication to the youth of the Tucson community and all Wildcat letterwinners. Bear Down.

THE WILDCAT MOVEMENT CONTINUES: QUEST FOR 12,000 WILDCAT CLUB MEMBERS
Yesterday many of you may have received an email asking you to join our team by becoming a Wildcat Club member. We hope you realize that when you choose to become an official supporter of Arizona Athletics, you play a key role in our success and help us to continue to develop and compete at the highest level.
The image pictured below was part of the email. For us, even though our Wildcat Club members may not be out on the playing surface competing, their financial support makes them a key player on our team and for that, we can’t thank you enough!
We’re getting closer to our goal but still have work to do. If you are interested in joining, please clickhere to become a part of the Wildcat Movement or follow the link in the personalized email you received yesterday.
FAN ALLIANCE NETWORK (F.A.N.) APPLICATION REMINDER
Two weeks ago, we launched the first-ever Fan Alliance Network (F.A.N.) in the Pac-12, a collective of 20 football season ticket holders who will be selected to represent the concerns and feedback of Arizona football fans over the next year. F.A.N. will work closely with our administration and marketing staff to collaborate and foster dialogue and conversation on game day feedback and we’re now recruiting.
With this being the last Wildcat Wednesday of the summer, I wanted to remind everyone that applications will close on Friday, June 13. To apply to serve on F.A.N. and for more information, please click here.
PAC-12 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP TICKETS
In case you missed it, the Pac-12 announced the football championship game is moving to the new Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. The game will be played Friday, December 5. Levi’s Stadium is the new home of the San Francisco 49ers and will be the premier state-of-the-art football stadium when it opens in a few months. Tickets for the Pac-12 football championship game are already on sale. You can click here to purchase and use the offer code FCGUA.
As the summer progresses we will have an increase in the number of our new student-athletes reporting to campus to enroll in summer school before the fall semester. This is the time of the year we have our first in-person opportunities to address a number of NCAA and departmental policies. Topics like substance abuse education, academic misconduct and social media responsibility are areas we start having these early conversations with our new Wildcats. It is never too early to address issues to ensure we are representing the University in a first-class matter.
Lindsey Weaver of women’s golf was named a WGCA Second-Team All-American and she earned Arizona’s 54th All-America citation and its fourth in the last five seasons … Four women’s tennisplayers earned Pac-12 academic honors while seven of our softball players collected awards, including Kelsey Rodriguez who was named Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year … Alyssa Hasslen ofwomen’s track and field is our nominee for 2014 NCAA Woman of the Year. U of A has won four NCAA WOY awards and we’ll keep you posted on Alyssa’s progress.
