2012: Indoors, Lalang continued his remarkable year by setting school records in the mile, 3K and 5K, including the collegiate record in the 5,000 meters ... Lalang won the NCAA Championship in the 3K and 5K, clocking a time of 7:46.64 in the 3K and 13:25.11 in the 5K ... He added 20 points to the men's team total, helping them to a school-best finish of third place ... At the Razorback Invitational, Lalang clocked a personal-best time of 3:55.09 in the mile, a school record and ranks as the No. 4 collegiate mile all-time ... At the MPSF Championships, Lalang's personal-best time of 7:44.48 in the 3,000-meter race was good for first place and a school record in the event ... Lalang set the collegiate record in the 5,000-meter race at the Millrose Games, clocking a personal-best time of 13:08.28 ... Outdoors, Lalang ran the 1,500 meters and the 5,000 meters, earning All-America status in both events ... At the Payton Jordan Invitational, Lalang clocked a personal-best time of 3:36.77 in the 1,500 meters, good for fourth place in the race and the school record ... His personal-best time in the 5K came at the Mt. SAC Relays where he earned a second-place finish with a time of 13:18.88 ... That mark is the second-best time in UA history ... At the NCAA Championships, Lalang clocked a time 13:42.20 in the 5,000-meter race, good for third place and first-team All-America accolades ... In the 1,500-meter race at the NCAA Championships, Lalang took 11th place with a time of 3:46.82, good for second-team All-America honors.
2011 (XC): Prior to the 2011 season, Lalang had no cross country experience, however, Lalang managed to post one of the best individual seasons in collegiate history ... Lalang went undefeated in six races on the year and his average margin of victory was 22.5 seconds ... At the NCAA Championships, Lalang took the lead after 4K and essentially ran the rest of the race by himself, winning with a 10K time 28:44.1, missing the course record by only three seconds ... He was UA's first NCAA Champion since Martin Keino in 1994, the third champion overall ... Lalang won the Roy Griak and Wisconsin adidas Invitationals, setting course records at both ... He clocked an 8K time of 23:15.5 at the Roy Griak Invitational and 23:10.8 at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational ... Lalang won the Pac-12 Championship as well, running the 8,000-meter race in 22:37, a course record.
2011: Arrived at Arizona with no competitive running experience whatsoever ... In his very first collegiate race, Lalang finished second in the 3,000-meter run indoors in a time of 7:55.05 to set one of the top times in the country ... In his second career race, Lalang ran a sub-four-minute mile in 3:59.13 to also set one of the top marks in the country ... Outdoors, Lalang took second place at Pac-10 Championships, running his season-best time of 3:42.15 ... He won his first Pac-10 Championship title in the 5,000 meters, running 13:47.29 ... He won the 5,000-meter run at the NCAA West Preliminaries, running his best time of year, 13:30.64 ... At the NCAA Championships, Lalang took second, posting a time of 13:31.69.

PERSONAL: Born in Eldoret, Kenya to Harun and Mary Tanui ... Brother of Boaz Lalang, the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships runner-up at 800 meters and the gold medal winner in the event at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi the same season ... He is one of seven children ... Majoring in pre-physiology.
