Lute Olson

The University of Arizona Athletics Department will host a public recognition ceremony celebrating the career of coach Lute Olson on August 8, 2009.

His continued support of the community through his involvement in many non-profits, the prestige he has brought to the UA and Tucson community and his impact on hundreds of basketball letterwinners are just a few of the many reasons to attend.  The month of August was selected for the celebration to allow his former players the opportunity to participate and share in the celebration of Coach Olson’s accomplishments.

Help us thank Coach Olson and celebrate his hall-of-fame career.  Among other things, the day’s event will include tributes from former players, appearances by many current NBA players, and a highlight video.

Event details:

  • August 8, 2009
  • 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (doors open at 10a.m.)
