Dr. Andrea Dutoit

Track & Field

1997-2001

Andrea Neary Dutoit won the pole vault at the 2001 NCAA Track and Field Championships, becoming one of the most unusual national champions. She carried a 4.0 grade-point average as a double major in physiology and molecular and cellular biology her senior year. On a full academic scholarship at Arizona, she didn't compete in any sports at all as a freshman and she never even touched a pole until her sophomore year.

Andrea set and broke numerous school records in the pole vault her entire collegiate career. Her best vault of 13 feet, 9.4 inches is currently 3rd in the UA track & field record books. After graduating from Arizona, Andrea continued to compete internationally in the pole vault, while attending medical school. Andrea graduated from medical school in 2006 and is currently doing in her first year residency in Colorado.
