Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a Major in Animal Science from the University of Arizona in 1981. She also received a Master of Arts Degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix in 2001. She then received a second certification program for severe and profound disabilities from the University of Arizona in 2004.
Jennifer is an Exceptional Education Teacher at Catalina Magnet High School. She serves as an Academic Support teacher for Exceptional Education students by finding out the strengths and experiences each student brings and utilizes them to design an effective instructional program for her students. She makes learning easier and more fun by encouraging positive citizenship for all students by providing access to current events, ways to participate and including projects that link the curriculum to students' individual goals. While serving as the faculty advisor for the Gay Straight Alliance, Jennifer helps the club become a strong voice for tolerance and respect for all people at Catalina by making it a safe place for students to talk with each other about their common concerns, hopes, and goals.
Jennifer is a member of GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network) and the GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) in order to assist with student leadership conferences. She has also co-facilitated a Community Based Instruction Club which is an entrepreneurial experience for students with disabilities.
