She continued her education at Southern Utah University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Physics, Chemistry, and Geology. In 2011, she earned her Master of Arts in Teaching Science from the University of Arizona. Cassi has taught Chemistry, Science of Technology, and Freshmen Foundations at Marana High School since 2007.
Learning in Cassi's classroom encompasses a variety of multidisciplinary lessons to engage students at all levels and prepare them for future careers. Her dedication and enthusiasm to provide more physical science options for students, led her to develop curriculum for a new course, Science of Technology, modeled after the Project Based Learning Theory. Whether students are engaged in collaborative discussion, investigation, research, or development of brilliant new ideas, Cassie fosters an environment where students demonstrate 21st century skills critical for success.
Cassi is actively involved in extracurricular activities, leadership positions, and community outreach. She is the lead for both the Marana Academy of Science and Technology and the Freshman Academy where she plays an integral role in developing curriculum and collaborative lesson units. In addition to dedicating time to tutoring students, she is the coach for the Pom/Color Guard team, the Science Olympiad team, and the sponsor for the Cube Club. Her commitment also extends to the greater community, where she volunteers with Bread Ministry delivering surplus bread to families in need.
