Dr. Lolita Levine earned a Ph.D. in Biology from New York's Fordham University, teaching certification from the University of Arizona, and Nursing Assistant Certification from Pima Community College.

Dr. Levine teaches Honors Biology, Anatomy and Physiology at Pueblo High Magnet School. The key to her success: she instills and nurtures within students the belief that they can achieve anything. She helps students realize their potential by incorporating hands-on experiments, design projects and other challenging activities that develop leadership and team-building. She encourages all students to participate in high-order thinking through inquiry-based learning. Field trips are incentives and opportunities to see science applications and meet science practitioners. In 2006, she received the Flinn Foundation Distinguished Educator Award.

A MESA Club sponsor for 10 years and sponsor of the Pueblo Science and Anatomy clubs, Dr. Levine initiated Pueblo's Science Night and Star Party, and a Spadefoot Toad Sanctuary. MESA students won top regional and state placements every year of her tenure, plus four national championships. Dr. Levine received the first UA Joyce House Outstanding MESA Advisor of the Year Award in 2002, and a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition in 2004. Outside of school, she led Girl Scout troops for 11 years.
