Susan Rich earned her Bachelor of Education from the University of Kansas in 1988. Prior to this, she obtained her Bachelor degrees in both Business and Home Ecology. She has been teaching for the past 23 years. Susan has taught Physical Education at Mountain View High School since 2003.

Susan believes that every student matters and strives to make her Physical Education classes a place where students have fun and learn exactly how to stay healthy and fit for a lifetime. Through her high standards and ability to create connections, students are encouraged to strive for their personal best. She motivates students to live a healthier lifestyle and promotes physical fitness through school activities, camps, and outreach programs. Susan's dedication and passion to student learning led to the development of an innovative new class, Walking for Wellness. This highly sought after class, integrates new concepts with the state standards while making learning fun and relevant.

As the Student Wellness Advocacy Team Sponsor and the Health and Medical Sciences Academy Student Leader Advisor, Susan leads students in using their voices to create meaningful changes in their school and community. Susan also has an active role in both of her leadership positions as the department chair and as academy core team facilitator where she continues to improve student learning. Susan cares for her students, inspires her colleagues, and is devoted to providing students the best learning experience possible.
