Aron Schmidt
Empire High School

Aron Schmidt earned his Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics from the University of Arizona. He is currently pursuing a Master's of Arts in Education Leadership and anticipates receiving his degree in May 2010 from Northern Arizona University.
Aron is currently in his fourth year of teaching upper level mathematics.  He wrote the curriculum for the first statistics class which he is teaching at Empire High School in the Vail School District. He incorporates technology in his lessons through the use of powerpoints, classroom performance systems, document cameras, online resources including java applets, excel, and others to help make learning easier and more enjoyable.
As the Student Council Advisor, Aron is responsible for assisting with and coordinating all campus wide club activities. He is the head track coach, a program which involves more than 75 students. He also served as a faculty member on a 10-day school humanitarian trip to Pretoria, South Africa with 21 students from Empire High School. Further, he participated in the People to People Student Ambassador program and took 43 Tucson students to 5 European countries in 21 days. Aron participates in the Vail Pride Day Celebration annually with Student Council and the math department.
