AnnMarie Condes Marana High School AnnMarie Condes earned her Bachelor of Science degrees in Education and Chemistry from the University of Arizona. She has a Master of Science in Chemistry also from Arizona. She has been teaching at the high school level for 14 years in the areas of chemistry, physics, and biology. Prior this, she taught college level chemistry for eleven years. AnnMarie teaches Chemistry and Physics at Marana High School in the Marana Unified School District. In order to foster a productive learning environment, her curriculum is student-led and inquiry-based for the development of problem solving. She focuses class time on "hands-on" laboratory activities to engage the students in a "minds-on" learning environment to better develop scientific concepts, skills and ideas. Her high standards and ability to build relationships motivates her students to attain their goals. As they achieve their goals, the rigor and relevance increases providing students the opportunity to reach their potential and work beyond it to a higher academic level. As the Academy Lead for the Science and Technology Academy at Marana High, AnnMarie is actively involved in professional development, data collection, the development of curriculum, and creating thematic units and projects. She is also the coach for the Science Olympiad team, the 4H Leader and the Rodeo Team Advisor. Aside from her activities at school, AnnMarie participates in fundraising activities for the Marana Community Food Bank and volunteers with the Marana Sundowners Club.
