Suzy Mason Position: Assoc. Ath. Dir. of Event Operations

Suzy Mason was elevated to Assistant Athletics Director for Event Operations in June 2004. From August 2000-2004, Mason served as Director of Event Operations overseeing event planning and game day management for Arizona Athletics. Specifically, she directly oversees game day operations for football and men's basketball and other special events associated with the department's 19 intercollegiate sports programs.

Mason joined the Arizona staff as a graduate student in Event Management in 1995. She interned for the National Senior Olympics and assisted with hosting several NCAA and Pac-10 Championship events. Mason and her staff coordinate efforts with departmental, campus, and community entities to maximize fan enjoyment and protect fans' safety and security.

Currently, Mason is on the Board of Directors for One on One Partners, Inc. a Tucson mentoring association and serves as a member of the Tucson Fiesta Bowl Committee. She also represents the department on the Campus Community Relations Committee and the University Working Group and is assisting with the completion of Title IX review for Arizona Athletics.

Mason was raised in Canandaigua, NY and earned a bachelor's of science degree in Communication from Cornell University in 1994. She completed her master's in Exercise and Sports Science at Arizona in 1996. She is married to Marvin Mason and the couple has two young children, Kate and Drew.
