Malibu, Calif.-  Arizona concluded day one of the ITA Southwest Regional Tournament presented by Oracle on Thursday. Representing the Wildcats in Malibu, Calif. is senior Shoki Kasahara, junior Trent Botha, sophomore Shoti Meparidze, and freshman Alejandro Reguant.
 
Kasahara and Meparidze will compete in the doubles round of 32 tomorrow after defeating SDSU's Raul De LaTorre and David Hough by a score of 8-3.
 
Kasahara and Meparidze took their momentum from doubles play into their first singles matches of the day where Kasahara handily defeated USD sophomore Pratt Keerasuntongpong (6-0, 6-2) while Meparidze took down UCLA senior Michael Guzman in a tough, three set affair (3-6, 6-3, 6-2).
 
Reguant, who received a bye in the singles round of 128, won his first singles match of the day which was against USC redshirt junior David Laser in a close match (6-4, 6-7(5), 6-2).  Reguant will be the only Wildcat playing in the main singles bracket tomorrow due to losses from Kasahara and Meparidze in the round of 64 as well as Botha in the round of 128.
