  • Tuesday's exhibition versus the Yotes of the College of Idaho will be Arizona's first game action against another team following the Oct. 14 McDonald's Red-Blue Game. That short scrimmage saw Red defeat Blue 53-49 behind 16 points from Allonzo Trier and Dusan Ristic. Rawle Alkins also finished with 15 points as Red's scoring was fueled by Parker Jackson-Cartwright's seven assists and no turnovers. Lauri Markkanen and Kadeem Allen led Blue with 14 points apiece as Markkanen also grabbed a game-high seven rebounds.
  • With a majority of conference preseason predicted orders of finish already out, UA's non-conference schedule garnered a handful of top-three finishes in respective preseason polls. Texas Southern was picked to finish first in the SWAC while UC Irvine and Grand Canyon were picked to finish second in the Big West and WAC respectively. Third-place finishes went to New Mexico (Mountain West) and Cal State Bakersfield (WAC). Michigan State and Gonzaga were featured in the Associated Press and USA TODAY Coaches preseason polls while Texas A&M and Butler also received votes.
  • Coach Sean Miller continues to approach numerous coaching milestones as the head coach at Arizona after passing Fred Snowden last season for third place in UA coaching history in wins. Miller enters the 2016-17 season nine conference wins shy of 100 for his career in the Pac-12 and 12 victories short of 200 at Arizona.
  • Arizona Basketball in the NBA continues to be led by elder statesmen Jason Terry (entering 18th season)and Richard Jefferson (entering 17th season). No Wildcat has played in more NBA games than Terry and Jefferson. Their combined 2,367 NBA games played entering this season was more than the entire Philadelphia 76ers opening day roster (2,242).
  • Arizona finished in second place, behind Oregon, in the Pac-12 Conference's preseason media poll after garnering four of the 27 available first-place votes. It marked the first time in four years that the Wildcats were not picked to win the conference in the predicted order of finish.
