One of the goals and principles that guide us in the Athletic Department at Arizona is to graduate our student-athletes. Accomplishing this goal is the focus of many of our actions within the department. Providing a first-class experience for our athletes includes equipping them with the resources they need academically.
It is for these reasons that we have decided to build the C.A.T.S. Academic Center. This academic center will allow our student-athletes and academic staff to operate at a level that we have not been able to in past. The facility will improve the student-athlete experience by providing a place where they can go to study, meet with counselors and get all the support they need academically. The C.A.T.S. Academic Center helps to accomplish our goal of graduating our student-athletes and will provide them with all the resources necessary to be successful in the classroom.
Arizona Athletics is proud of our excellent tradition both on and off the playing field. This project will benefit every one of our student-athletes in ways that will affect them for a lifetime.
What is the C.A.T.S. Academic Center?
The C.A.T.S. Academic Center will be a two story approx. 15,000 square ft facility located directly south of McKale center. This new facility will bring our Academic and Student-Athlete support staff into one centralized unit. It will house all academic counselors and advisors as well as our life skills program and sports psychologist. In addition, the facility will provide our student-athletes with one building where they can go to meet with academic staff, use the space to study and focus on their academic pursuits.
