TUCSON,
Ariz. – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) released its preseason rankings for the Women's NCAA Division I teams on Tuesday. The Arizona Wildcats checked in at No. 20 on the list.
Arizona received 187 total points in the voting, following their record of 14-6-2 in 2015, which was the second-most wins in school history. At the end of last season, the Wildcats were sitting at No. 19 after making a run to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament.
This is the second time the Wildcats have received a preseason ranking with the last time coming in 2006 when the team was ranked No. 17.
The rankings feature three other Pac-12 teams: Stanford (No. 5), USC (No. 11), and California (No. 18). Also, the Wildcats will take on Texas Tech (No. 19) on August 26th.
The Wildcats will start their season in an exhibition match against Northern Arizona at home on Friday, August 12th at 7 p.m. PT with the first day of practice beginning tomorrow evening. Check out arizonawildcats.com for tickets and information.
