SIMON TO HAVE JERSEY RECOGNIZED IN MCKALE
We're thrilled to announce that Miles Simon, who was named Most Outstanding Player of the 1997 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, will have his jersey recognized in the McKale Center. The official jersey recognition will take place during a ceremony at the McDonald's Red-Blue Game on Friday, Oct. 14.
In earning the Most Outstanding Player Award in 1997, Miles helped the Wildcats to a National Championship, while leading the tournament in scoring. He was a first team All-American as a senior after earning All-Pac-10 honors in each of his final three seasons with the Wildcats. Miles is Arizona's all-time leading scorer in NCAA Tournament history and is one of four Wildcats to score 1,600 points and dish out 400 assists in a career. Based on these incredible accomplishments and the NCAA Tournament MOP Award, it is fitting that Miles' jersey will be recognized in conjunction with the 20th anniversary celebration of the '97 National Championship team.
Congratulations Miles and thank you for all you've done and continue to do as a representative of Arizona Athletics.

CACTUS KICKOFF ACTIVITY PICKING UP
There have been some encouraging signs in the past week regarding interest in the Cactus Kickoff. Ticket sales on our side of the stadium have been strong. The Alumni Association's tailgate party is sold out. The hotel packages are sold out. In addition, we keep selling out of spots on the reverse Cat Cruiser. We recently added another bus that will transport fans from Tucson to Glendale and back. Go toArizonaWildcats.com/cactuskickoff to get your game tickets or a spot on the bus.
BACK IN #OURHOUSE SOON
We've talked a lot about the upcoming football game vs. BYU in the Valley, but we don't want to overlook our first two home games in #OURHOUSE. The home opener is about two weeks away against Grambling State on Sept. 10. The halftime show is going to be one people in Tucson will talk about for a long time. Some say Grambling State's Tiger Marching Band is worth the price of admission alone.
The next home game is a week later when we host Hawaii. We're wrapping up the details on some special activities around that game in honor of the upcoming 75th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor that we will release soon. One thing we want to get out there is a discounted ticket offer for active and retired military personnel. If you are serving in the military, or served in the past, you can receive 50% off tickets for the Sept. 17 game. We hope you will join us for this remembrance. Just bring your military ID to the McKale Center Ticket Office during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
We have one more ticket promotion to make you aware of, this one with our new sponsor Taco Bell. Purchase a Combo Box meal, keep the receipt and bring it to the McKale Ticket Office to receive a special offer to purchase two tickets for the price of one. This BOGO offer is available for all home football games, except the USC and ASU games.
Of course, season tickets and mini-plans are still available to purchase. These young men have been working extremely hard and we hope you'll show your support this season. Click HERE to get tickets to #OURHOUSE online.
STANDING ROOM ONLY IN THE SANDS CLUB
Once again, tickets for the Sands Club are sold out, but new for 2016, we are giving people the opportunity to enjoy the luxurious amenities. Fans can purchase one of just 50 standing-room-only admissions for the season, which will give them access to the Sands Club, but without a seat in the seating area. Standing-room-only admissions for the Sands Club are ideal for those looking to socialize with clients, partners or friends. They can't be purchased online, so call (520) 621-CATS (2287) for more information.

CATS IN THE COMMUNITY
A number of our Wildcats used their time over the summer to volunteer in the Tucson community. Not only are the student-athletes helping improve our community but they are also doing so with a little added competition. At the end of each academic year, we hold the annual C.A.T.S. Awards Banquet, where the Athletic Directors Cup for Community Service is awarded to the team with the most hours of community service per team member. Last year, our gymnastics team took the honor for the 11th consecutive year, so we're wondering if another program can unseat them this year.
During the summer months, our women's basketball team led the charge by incorporating community service into their weekly routine. They helped out at the Boys and Girls Club, gave tours of our facilities to visiting groups, visited children at Diamond Children's Medical Center and more.
We also had a few of our programs participate in one of my favorite events of the year. The football, soccer and volleyball teams took to the streets to deliver season tickets to select season ticket holders. Our season ticket holders are so important to us and we like to use these opportunities to show how much your support means to us.

Our student-athletes are looking to continue volunteering in the Tucson community. If you know of a non-profit that would benefit from the helping hands of our student-athletes, please let us know by submitting an online request by clicking HERE. We won't be able to fulfill every request, but we try to get to as many as we can. If you have any questions, please contact Natasha Harrison at naharris@arizona.edu.
