Since graduating from the University of Arizona Molly has moved back to Albany, New York, started working at a biotech company called Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, and bought a house.

What did you accomplish at Arizona as a GymCat?

During my time as a Gymcat I was All-Conference in the All Around as a freshman, second team All-Conference in the All Around as a junior, and an Academic All-American.

What have you been up to since Graduation?

After graduation I moved back to Albany, New York and started my career at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals - a biotech company based out of New York. I also bought a house and got a Golden Retriever puppy!

How do you feel Arizona helped you grow as a person?

I don't think I can name all the ways! It certainly made me more independent, it taught me how to manage my time and money, how to be part of a team, and the importance of giving back to the community.

Are you still involved in gymnastics?

I am still involved a little bit, I often fill in for coaches at my club gym, World Class Gymnastics Academy, when they are out of town or traveling for meets.

What do you miss most about the University of Arizona?

Is everything an acceptable answer? I miss my teammates and being in the gym every day, I miss being around all the student athletes and amazing staff in McKale, I definitely miss the beautiful campus, and I even miss going to class every day!

What about Arizona stood out to you while being recruited?

The first thing that stood out to me when I stepped foot on campus was how incredibly beautiful campus is. (It didn't hurt that I took my visit in December when it was below freezing in NY). Immediately after arriving on campus and meeting the coaches and the girls, I could tell that this was more than a team, it truly was a family. The coaching staff, the team, and everyone in McKale made me feel so welcome right away and I knew after that first day of my visit that the University of Arizona was where I wanted to be.

What do you miss most about being a student athlete?

Where to begin! I definitely miss being in the gym with my teammates every day. Even when the practices were grueling and weights made me super sore, it was still so rewarding and fun to see the team work together and make progress towards our goals. I also miss competing, especially in McKale. There is absolutely no better feeling than sticking an awesome routine, or watching a teammate stick an awesome routine and just feeling the excitement that came from the crowd.

What are some of your favorite memories at Arizona with the GymCats?

There are quite a few... The first would be Pac-10's my freshman year. We were hosting and I may be a little biased, but McKale looked better than any other venue we competed in during my 4 years. In addition to being at home, the team had an amazing meet and we hit 24 for 24 routines. That was definitely one of the most exciting and fun meets that I ever competed in. We also got to compete at Alabama that year, and that sticks out to me because we competed in front of a sold out arena. Walking in to a venue with twelve thousand fans as just a freshman, it was a pretty unique experience. Senior night was another highlight. Knowing that was the last time I would be competing in McKale, and just thinking back over all the years of hard work it took to get there, it was a really emotional night. In addition, my senior night was shared with Aubs (Aubree Cristello), who I had been competing with since we were 11 years old, I could not have asked for a better way to close out my career.

My last memory isn't a great one, but it is certainly one that I'll never forget. Each year we did a little beam demo at half time of one of the basketball games. Well, it was decided that I would do my beam series and a dismount during this little exhibition. Well, I got up to do my series, which I probably only ever missed a handful of times in my 8 years of competing it, and I missed my front foot on my landing and crashed SO hard in front of the entire crowd in McKale! Definitely a little embarrassing, but certainly memorable.

What advice would you give to the current GymCats?

Enjoy your 4 years. It isn't always fun or easy, and there will probably be more days where you're tired, sore, and hurting than days that you feel great, but when your 4 years are up, you'll miss everything about it. Don't forget to take a step back once in a while and remember how hard you worked to get there, and remember how few people get to be a part of something so great.
