Gymnastics Welcomes Laura Leigh Horton for Fall 2017

TUCSON, Arizona – The Arizona Gymnastics program will grow stronger with the signing of Laura Leigh Horton who will join the GymCats in the fall of 2017.

"We are thrilled to welcome Laura Leigh to the Wildcat family," said head coach Tabitha Yim. "She holds herself to the highest standard in every aspect of her life, and we know Arizona will love the explosiveness and flair she brings to the competition floor."

Laura Leigh will be joining the GymCats from Houston, Texas where she competed with Stars Gymnastics Houston under coaches Dan and Ashly Baker. She attended Memorial High School and was actively involved in classes and extracurriculars, earning a 5.97 GPA while being a member of the Saint Cecilia Church Lifeteen program.

Laura Leigh is a three-time Junior Olympic National Qualifier. She is also a two-time State Vault Champion and had three top-5 finishes at the Region 3 Championships.

"I chose Arizona because it has the perfect blend of academics and athletics," said Laura Leigh. "I am looking forward to creating new experiences with new friends and being on my own for the first time. I can't wait to be in a new state and compete at the collegiate level."
 
Laura Leigh Horton will join Adra Parks, Sydney Freidin, and Payton Bellows as members of the GymCat freshman class this coming fall.
