There will be a strong presence of the Force in Tucson when the Wildcats host Utah on Friday, Sept. 22. as Arizona Football will be hosting Star Wars Night at Arizona Stadium, an officially licensed promotion with LucasFilm.
Throughout the night, fans will be able to meet, take photos and interact with some select characters featuring movie set quality costumes from the classic movie series at the Coca-Cola Fan Fiesta as well as inside the stadium instead of having to travel to a galaxy far, far away. Fans are encouraged to wear the clothing that you can find on planets such as Tatooine, Endor, Coruscant and Jakku.
In addition to the clear bag policy that will continue to be in place, weapon props such as toy blasters and lightsabers will not be permitted inside Arizona Stadium.
On game day, Coca-Cola will be giving away movie theatre gift cards which can be used towards the first screening of Star Wars: The Last Jedi film, which opens Dec. 15. Three winners will be selected from a Star Wars Dance Cam promotion during the game. The cameras will be looking for fans showing off the best dance moves while wearing a Star Wars costume. Fans can also enter-to-win two movie theater gift cards and an autographed
Rich Rodriguez football at the Coca-Cola Fan Fiesta and the customer experience booth. The winner will be selected in the second half of the game. In addition, Star Wars themed rally towels will be given away to the first 2,500 UA students in the ZonaZoo.
Special edition Arizona Football/Star Wars posters will be available for fans to pick up inside Arizona Stadium at the customer experience booth, which is located on the north concourse near section 34. Posters will be free of charge while limited supplies last.
Come prepared with your Chewbacca mask, your Han Solo jacket or anything else movie related as Star Wars themed elements will be incorporated throughout the game. Follow Arizona Athletics on social media for the release of more details as they are confirmed.
