FAQ

State funding of Higher Education in Arizona and throughout the country has been dramatically reduced during the last three decades.  Since 1979, the percentage of Arizona state general funds to Universities has decreased from 19% to 10%.  With this greatly reduced funding from the State, the University of Arizona has turned to private philanthropy to ensure success.

For decades, Arizona Athletics was the grateful recipient of state funding and student fees.   Since the 2004-05 academic year, Arizona Athletics has been fully self sufficient and relies solely on private resources (e.g. ticket sales, TV & radio rights fees, corporate sponsorships, and charitable giving).

Campaign Arizona Phase II currently has eleven project components:
1. Men's Basketball/Women's Basketball/Volleyball
    practice facility
2. Swimming pool renovation and new swim pool/dive tank
3. Gymnastics practice facility expansion/renovation
4. Softball clubhouse (completed)
5. Soccer clubhouse (completed)
6. Baseball Stadium renovation (completed)
7. Track and Field renovation (completed)
8. Tennis courts renovation (completed)
9. Basketball Coaches' offices renovation (completed)
10. Locker room remodeling (completed)
11. General Operating Funds
