- Holds the eighth fastest 100y backstroke time in Arizona history (46.31; 3/4/17; Pac-12 Championships)

2018-19: All-American Honorable Mention in the 200 free relay, 400 medley relay, 200 medley relay, and 400 free relay...Set a new personal best in the 100 back (45.90)...Swam the fastest 200 back time on the team with 1:41.23 at Pac-12 Championships which was good enough for an NCAA B cut. 

2017-18: Swam the fastest 200 back time on the team with 1:42.83 at Pac-12 Championships, tenth-fastest in Arizona school history…Set a new personal best in the 100 back (46.16) to move up to sixth all-time in school history…Also earned an NCAA B cut in the 50 free (20.10)…Finished in the top-five eight times across two events, including third against top-ranked California.

2016-17: An honorable mention All-American as a part of the 200y freestyle relay team … Swam the eighth fastest 100y backstroke in Arizona history, placing sixth at the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 46.31 (NCAA B cut), the second-fastest 100y backstroke by a Wildcat in 2016-17 … Finished 10th at the Pac-12 Championships in the 200y backstroke with a time of 1:43.83 (NCAA B cut), the third fastest 200y backstroke by a Wildcat in 2016-17 … Placed 11th in the 200y IM at the Texas Invitational with a time of 1:47.36, the third-fastest 200y IM by any Wildcat all year … Placed first in the 200y backstroke in a pair of dual meets (at Utah, 10/22/16; at Texas, 1/27/17).

High School:  A letterwinner at Federal Way High School as a sprinter…Named team MVP sophomore year…Was a two-time Washington State Champion and state record holder in the 100 back and 200 back…Holds school records in the 50 free, 100 back and 200 medley relay…Named the Washington Swimmer of the Year in 2014…Had two perfect meets at Age Group Championships…Was the Junior National Champion in the 400 medley relay…Qualified for the 2016 Olympic Trials in the 100m back...Ranked the No. 1 recruit out of Washington by CollegeSwimming.com and seventh overall.

Personal: Born Thomas Peter Steingrebe Anderson in March of 1998 in Tacoma, Washington to Mark and Dana Anderson…Has three brothers, Nic, Dylan and Derek…Has one younger sister, Emma…Planned major in Psychology…Likes cooking, drawing and long walks on the beach…Chose Arizona over USC and Auburn because “I could become the best man I can be in and out of the pool”.
