Joined the Wildcats for the start of the 2018 regular season where he posted a 9-12 singles record playing on courts two (8-10) and three (1-2)… Pollanen with 5-15 in doubles play, playing matches with Filip Malbasic (1-4), Jonas Maier (2-4), and Igor Karpovets (2-7)… Earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status for his efforts in the classroom…

Was a top-10 player in Finland and has been internationally ranked as high as No. 158 by the ITF.
Personal
Pollanen was born and raised in Helsinki, Finland and attended Pohjois-Haagan Yhteiskoulu sports high school.... He will become the second athlete in his family to play collegiate tennis in the United States, joining his brother, Herkko, who is a senior at Ohio State....Enjoys other sports including basketball and fishing.
