Was the Western Collegiate Athletic Association champion in the shot put from 1980-83 and WCAA champion in the discus from 1980-82 (runner up in 1983). Set United Kingdom, British Commonwealth Games, American Collegiate, NCAA, WCAA, Rincon Vista Stadium, Arizona Open, and Arizona school records in the shot put (62-2 1/2) and discus (221-5). Was the 1982 European Commonwealth Games champion in the discus and was a discus finalist at the 1980 Olympic Games. Finished fifth in the discus at the 1984 Olympics.
