Defeated Ohio State, 71-58, for 1981 AIAW National Championship, after tying Buckeyes for 1980 national crown. Seven members selected to All American team. During national finals, Gerri Brandly captured the figures championship, and Pam Tryon tied for solo event title. Freshmen Julie Olson and Becky Roy won duet title, and Olson, Roy and Tryon teamed for trio championship. Title marked first unshared national championship for any UA women's athletic team.
