At 1982 national collegiate championships (AIAW), won solo title and, with Candy Costie, duet title. Altogether, captured two Pan American Games championships. At 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles won gold medals in solo and in duet with Candy Costie. Returned to competition for 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Krea, and won the silver medal in the solo event.
